Found hatch chile at Harris Teeter in Kernersville NC, they only put out a few at a time. I was disappointed with it, it looked like Pueblo CO. Short and not meaty. It was extra hot, but very hard to pill.
Hello, Where can I buy organic Hatch Chiles? Why don’t you market an organic hatch chile salsa? I think it would be a best seller! I certainly would keep buying this! I read that a fair amount of hebicides/pesticides are used on chiles…I want to eat the healthiest chiles possible. Hope you consider dedicating a portion of your growing to this!
USDA Organic Green Chile is tested for all pesticide, herbicide, and synthetic fertilizer residues. You can ask for a Certificate of analysis to be sure. Mi Abuelo Organic Chile not only sells USDA Organic Chile but is a USDA Organic certified handler/processor as well. They are SQF certified to boot.
I was disappointed last year that the places here in Rio Rancho,NM only carried hot and extra hot ?I always have bought medium but was none around here! So sad ?!

Generally taking fresh produce (even roasted) over international boundaries without tons of red tape is impossible. The raw chiles will likely get quaranteened and you will not see them until they are well past rotten. If you are committed to trying, I would first contact the embassy to get the low down on import rules.

Can I take it with me to Costa Rica? Will it spoil on the day trip? Roasted
Hmmm…. Not sure they will let it on the plane? If you can pack it with some dry ice, it would definitely keep for the day.
