When to the Oakdale Hy-Vee and found them roasting Hatch in the parking lot. Smelled amazing, and got 2 cases. #ilovemyhy-vee
We got a half bushel case at hyvee in Oakdale on wednesday… they were roasting in the parking lot
For those in the Rochester area, HyVee #2 (37th Street NW) will roast on demand if you buy a case. You’ll have to check on the hours available … I got a box roasted about 1:00 pm this past Tuesday
I am looking for someone who has a couple of pounds of diced Hatch chiles for sale in the north metro. Been unable to find any Hatch chiles around here this year. Will be headed to HyVee in Brooklyn Center, MN this week (midweek), does anyone know if they have them? I lived in Rio Rancho for a while and worked at the Intel plant running the cafeteria’s kitchen (new one) in the 90’s. Fell in love with the flavor of the area.
Oh can’t wait, so glad they have recognized so many New Mexicans born and raised now live in the NE part of the US. And is trying to make it convenient for us to still have that Wonderful Food and Flavor any where we go. So Thankful!!
Whoop whoop!
Need to see some dates in the SW suburbs of the Twin Cities? How about the HyVee in Shakopee? Or the Fresh Thyme in Bloomington?
Donna – I just updated dates/locations for MN today. Let me know if any of those work for you
Any fresh hatch peppers left in the Southeast metro of the Twin Cities?
Thank you!
Not that I’ve heard of so far. =/
I suppose we’ll have to wait a couple months for 2019 updates?
Just a word of warning. These dates may be wrong. Be sure to call the location ahead of time and even then, be wary. We were going to get chiles for my brother. He called the Brooklyn Park HyVee at the beginning of the week to confirm the 8/15 date. My husband drove from St. Paul yesterday, to find that they weren’t roasting there yesterday and were supposed to do it today (8/16) instead. They apologized and said they had the dates wrong, but offered nothing for the trouble. He went back today (8/16) and again was told that it wasn’t today, it’s tomorrow. A ton of wasted time and gas.
Any dates for 2018 yet?
We are still waiting on date for Minnesota, if you know of any stores please let us know so we can reach out.
Are any of these taking place in 2018?
I’m adding 2018 date this week and next. Hopefully the majority of them will be up by the end of next week.
I would love a case, I’m from Colorado and miss chile so much. What is the cost for a case?
Have it down in Mankato, had the produce manager @ Hyvee order me a case!
Would like to know when we can purchase it. Is there a date yet??
Will the HyVee Stoessel also carry and sell them after the event?
…HyVee stores also…,
Is this true? OMG! yaaaaa
Hy vee
More dates and locations coming! Stay tuned.
Yippee!! Hope they’re equipped to sell more than a couple of pounds. Advise them that seasoned New Mexicans need to have enough for to freeze and last awhile.
Can you get a full sack roasted like we did in Albuquerque?
Jake, we purchased Hatch green chile at the HyVee store listed on Eagan
Dr., Savage, MN (Minneapolis burb). We drove from Duluth (~2.5 hrs.) but was certainly worth the drive. I had called ahead and reserved a 25 lb. box . It was indeed roasted in a roaster and put in the plastic bag. We threw it on top of a bag of ice in a cooler and was nice and cool by the time we got home. Chile is very meaty and plenty hot (we requested hot). Folks are very nice and the young man roasting was actually trained on how to roast, etc. We were skeptical, but it’s the real thing!!! So happy I found the site advertising it.
